We are currently accepting submissions for our online platform – loose leaves!

It’s open season for the online portion of Sunflower Station Press! Loose Leaves is a homey online platform.

We want to open doors for eager artists to go in and out; to be reader, author, and publisher. Submissions will remain open for anyone looking for a steady soft place to land with their work, be it one submission or reoccurring.

If you are interested in maintaining a consistent role, there is the option of becoming a permanent columnist.

Loose Leaves is officially always accepting short fiction and poetry, personal essays, art reviews, missed connections, advice, and visual art. In short, a variety of work that is in line with the liminal, zany, witty, and sexy. Where transgressive, radical, and esoteric voices are revered and ‘low brow’ optimism at the edge of a cynical world takes precedence over commodity or academia.

We are looking for work that is in line with the following:

  • Work is unpublished
  • Nonfiction & Fiction: 2500 words
  • Poetry: 3-4 poems; 5 pages max
  • Visual Art: up to 5 pieces; black/white & color accepted
  • We do not publish epic poetry
  • We are interested in the liminal, unique, & zany

  • We welcome transgressive, radical, and esoteric voices
  • We are inclusionary
